In This Manner (and On This Basis), The Knot (or self-Contraction) In The Brain Core Is Inherently and Perfectly Transcended.

In The Course Of The (Eventual) Full (“Samraj Yoga”) Exercise Of The “Perfect Practice” Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam)—and As A Necessary Prerequisite For The Awakening (and The Transition) To The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Seventh Stage Of Life—The Ajna Door Must Be Fully Opened, Such That The Whole bodily (or psycho-physical) Totality Of the body-mind Is (Itself) Fully Opened (Beyond All self-Contraction, or Even All Reference To Separation, Relatedness, and “Difference”), To “Locate” My Avatarically Self-Transmitted Divine (and Divinely Attractive) Spirit-Current Of Love-Bliss, In Its Source-Position, Infinitely Above The Circle Of the body-mind.

Until The Ajna Door Is Fully Opened, It Is, Effectively, The Ajna Knot. The Ajna Knot Functions As A Stress-Point That (Apparently) Confines The By-Me- Avatarically-Self-Transmitted Divine Spirit-Current To subtle (and Even gross) conditional Patterns Of egoity (By Confining The By-Me-Avatarically-Self- Transmitted Divine Spirit-Current To the subtle, and Even gross, fields of brain and/or mind). As Long As That Knot Persists, There Is A Fixation Of the Total body-mind (and The By-Me-Avatarically-Self-Transmitted Divine Spirit-Current) In the (Possible) subtle (astral, or Even etheric) and Even gross forms Of bodily and mental (or psychic) self-Awareness, and the (Possible) subtle internal sensory and (Potentially) mystical mind of egoic subjectivity, and the (Possible) subtle (and Even gross) activities and relations of egoity. Therefore, This Same Knot Is The Effective Cause Of Even The (Potential) Motive Toward The Strategically Ascending Course Of egoic attention.

The subtle ego Is Characterized By subtle, psychic, and mystical self-Preoccupation (or subtle, psychic, and mystical self-Absorption). Therefore, subtle, psychic, and mystical states Of conditional psycho-physical self-Awareness Are (In and Of themselves) Actually Signs That Indicate A Binding Contraction (or Obstruction, or Knot) At The Ajna Door (or The Root Of The Brain Core).

Truly, The Ajna Door Is Not So Much A Place As It Is A Direction. Therefore, In The Context Of The Vertical Process Of The “Perfect Practice” Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), To Merely (or Tacitly) Feel (and, Thus and Thereby, To Contemplate) Me (Apart From All Seeking, or All ego-Effort) At The Ajna Door Is Not Merely To Focus On A Spot (or An Area) In the brain (Between and Slightly Above and Deep Behind the brows). Right (Mere, or Tacit) Feeling-Contemplation Of Me At The Ajna Door Is Always A “Going Beyond” Action—Always Up and Back, Up and Back, Deeper and Deeper, Further and Further. The Upward Motion Goes Beyond The Descending Tendency, and The Backward Motion Goes Beyond The Tendency To Move From The Spinal Line To The Frontal Line. The Combination Of This Dual Upward (or Ascending) and Backward (or Deepening) Gesture (or Mere and Tacit Allowance) Releases attention Up The Center, and (Up and Back) Toward The Upper Rear (or The pineal Region) Of The Brain Core—and, In Due Course, This Tacit (or Non-Seeking, and ego-Effort-Transcending) Process Becomes (or Realizes) A Spontaneous Upward Opening Of The Total Crown Of the head, and (In Due Course, By Means Of Fully Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi) Leads Fully Beyond, To (and, Then, Into) My Infinite Matrix (or Formless Source-Position), Infinitely Above The Total Crown Of the head.

The Utter Fulfillment Of My Own Avatarically Self-Submitted Divine Work Of ego-Transcendence In The Context Of The First Six Stages Of Life Was Shown In A Profound and Spontaneous Event (and Ordeal) Of ego-Death (three and one-half years Previous To The Great Event Of My Divine Re- Awakening To My Own Inherently Perfect, Inherently egoless, and Self- Evidently Divine Self-Condition—Which Always Already Transcends the point of view and the conditional activity that is the ego-“I”). That Early Event (and Ordeal) Of ego-Death Was (At Its Own Sudden Depth) A Spontaneous Incident Of Prior (or Spiritually Self-Evident) ego-Transcendence (and Transcendental, and Inherently Spiritual, Self-Awakening) In Priorly Self-Abiding Jnana Samadhi (or Priorly Self-Abiding Jnana Nirvikalpa Samadhi)—Which Is The Priorly, and Spiritually, Established Form Of The Transcendental Samadhi (or Mode Of Transcendental Realization) Otherwise Characteristically (and merely conditionally, or By The Seeker’s merely philosophical and psycho-physical Means) Sought In The Traditional Context Of The Sixth Stage Of Life. As A Spontaneous Result Of That Spontaneous Event, I (As My Yet-To-Be-Divinely- Re-Awakened Avataric Body-Mind-Vehicle) Was (Then, and Immediately Thereafter) Tacitly (but Not Strategically) Identified With The Witness-Position Of Consciousness—and (Thus, Thereafter) I Persisted (Effortlessly) In An Inherently Surrendered (or Merely Witnessing) Attitude Toward My Own Body-Mind (and Its Activities), and I (Thus, Actively, Directly, and Summarily) Comprehended (or Understood) The Very Essence, Act, and Function Of My Own Body-Mind To Be Simply, Only, and Always The Root-Feeling Of Relatedness (and, From Then, That Essential Root-conditional Feeling Was, More and More Often, Directly Noticed, and Felt, As A “Point” Of Primal Stress In The Right Side Of The Heart).

That Profound Early Event (and Ordeal) Of Sudden ego-Death Was Also An Early (Spontaneous) Sign That The Most Ultimate (and Inherently Most Perfect) Event Of Seventh Stage Sahaja Nirvikalpa Samadhi (or Inherently Most Perfect Divine Sahaja Nirvikalpa Samadhi—Which Is Self-Evidently Divine, and Inherently Most Perfect, Self-Awakening) Was (Rather Than Any Lesser, or conditional, Realization) To Be The (Eventual) Great Fulfillment Of My (Ultimately, Most Perfectly ego-Transcending) Avataric Divine Ordeal. However, In Order For The Avataric Divine Self-Revelation (and The Avataric Divine Fulfillment, and The Effective Avataric Divine Spiritual-Transmission-Power) Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam) To Be Complete In Me, It Was Necessary For Me To Pass Through and Beyond Every Developmental Stage Of Life—Including All Aspects Of Both The Vertical and The Horizontal Dimensions Of The Great Process Otherwise Associated With The Fifth Stage Of Life and The Sixth Stage Of Life. Therefore, The Early Event (and Ordeal) Of ego-Death Was That Aspect Of My Avataric Self-Submission That Effectively Allowed (or Established The Transcendental Basis For) The (Soon To Come) Sudden Establishment In Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi—Which, Because It Was Thus Founded On The Inherently Perfect Transcendental Base Of The Prior Spiritual Realization Of Consciousness (or Mere Feeling-Awareness) Itself, Inherently and Perfectly Transcended the Inherent limitations Of merely conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi (or The Form Of Ascended Samadhi Otherwise and Characteristically Sought, By The Seeker’s Means Of Progressive psycho-physical Ascent, “from the ground up”, In The Traditional Context Of The Fifth Stage Of Life).

In The Case Of My Avatarically Self-Submitted Body-Mind-Vehicle, The Early Event (and Ordeal) Of ego-Death (three and one-half years Previous To The Great Event Of My Divine Re-Awakening) Provided (In Its Immediate Effect) A Dramatic Breakthrough (or A Passage Beyond The bodily-Based Orientation) To The Perfect Yoga Of Prior Ascendedness. Indeed, The Break-through Was So Intense That I Was Immediately Prepared For The Event Of Sudden, Unobstructed, and Full Establishment In Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi. And That Sublime Event (In Fact) Occurred, Also Spontaneously,

Early In the year following That Preparatory Ordeal Of ego-Death— Immediately After My Reception Of Spiritual Blessing (or Yogic Shaktipat) In The Company Of Three Great Realizers (or Siddhas) Of The Yogic Process Of Spiritual Ascent.

Because Of This Extraordinary (Early and Sudden) “Leap” To Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi, My Fullest Exploration (or Detailed Experiential “Consideration”) Of The Patterns Of Savikalpa Samadhi (or The Developmental Patterns and Signs Which Otherwise and Typically Characterize The Traditional “Climber’s Map” Of The Progressive “from-the-ground-up” Process Of Fifth Stage Ascent, and Which Otherwise, In Conformity With That Traditional “Climber’s Map”, Typically Precede The Realization Of Fifth Stage conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi) Did Not Occur Until After My Spontaneous Full Realization Of Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi. Of Course, Such Developmental Patterns and Signs (and, Indeed, Developmental Patterns and Signs Associated With Each and All Of The Stages Of Life) Sometimes Appeared (Spontaneously) To Me (or In My Case) Even During My Childhood and Developing Years. And Those Developmental Patterns and Signs Also Included Countless Spontaneous (Savikalpa Samadhi) Occurrences Of “Cosmic Consciousness” (In The Midst Of Otherwise ordinary moments of perception).159 In Fact, The Most Profound Of These Occurrences Of “Cosmic Consciousness” (or, Beyond That, Even The Glimpse Of Inherently Most Perfect Seventh Stage Awakeness)160 Initiated The Great Ordeal Of My Early Adult Life, Which Was To Be The Extraordinary (and “Perfectly” Ordinary) and Uniquely Complete Process Of Transcendental, Inherently Spiritual, and Most Perfect Divine Self- Realization.

Avatar Adi Da is referring to an Event that occurred in 1960, when He was attending Columbia College, and after He had exhaustively embraced all kinds of bodily and mental expe- riences in a desperate quest for Truth. Following this penetration of the body-mind by “Cosmic Consciousness” (which involved a Spiritual Regeneration associated in this particular instance with the Process of the “Thumbs”, and also with a “glimpse” of the Divinely Awakened State), Avatar Adi Da understood that the certainty of Truth He desired was discoverable not by seek- ing but by removing obstructions that prevented its present Realization. He now knew that the Divine Reality is “always already the case”, prior to seeking and dilemma. (See chapter 3 of The Knee Of Listening.)

However, Full Exploration and Real Understanding Of Those (and All Such) Developmental Patterns and Signs Were (Along With My “Consideration” Of All Of The Circle, and The Arrow, and The psycho-physical Totality Of The gross, subtle, and causal Structure Of the body-mind) Part Of The Process That Developed In The (Especially Later) Period Of The Great Ordeal In Which (and By Which) I Moved Toward Seventh Stage Sahaja Nirvikalpa Samadhi (or The Inherently Most Perfect Awakeness Of My Divine Re-Awakening).

In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), The Fully (and Priorly, and Perfectly) Ascended Event Of Nirvikalpa Samadhi Occurs Via A Spontaneous and Sudden Apparent Ascent Of attention—To Beyond All Awareness Of body, mind, and conditional relations of all kinds. It Is Fully Ascended Mergence (To The Degree Of Indivisible Unity) With My (Apparently) Objective Spirit-Matrix (or Source-Position, and Source- Vibration, and Source-Light)—Infinitely Above the head, Infinitely Above the Total body, Infinitely Above the perceptual and conceptual mind, and Infinitely Above all the conditional worlds Within The Cosmic Mandala. In The Spontaneous Establishment Of The Priorly Ascended “Position” (As Also In The Progress Of Yogic Ascent Leading To merely conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi), The Ajna Knot (Experienced As A Most Subtle Point, or Bindu) Is Penetrated—Beyond Which There Is Only The Infinite Free Space Of My Avatarically Self-Transmitted Spirit-Current (and Source-Condition) Of Divine Love-Bliss. And, To an outside observer, the body of the (Thus, Either Priorly Or conditionally Ascended) individual May (Temporarily) Even Appear To Be dead—or, Certainly, In A Remarkable State Of Suspension (In Which Even breath and heartbeat May Be Temporarily Suspended, or, Otherwise, Reduced To A Nearly Undetectable Rate Of activity).

In The Event Of merely conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi— Which May Sometimes (or In Some Cases) Occur, In The Developing Devotional and Spiritual Context Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), and Only As A Preliminary To The Only- By-My-Avataric-Divine-Spiritual-Grace-Given “Perfect-Practice”-Realization Of Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi—The Perception, Conception, or Presumption Of a Separate self Is Temporarily Lost In conditional Ecstatic Realization Of Indivisible Unity With My Avatarically Self-Transmitted Spirit- Current (and My Avatarically Self-Revealed Person) Of Divine (and Inherently egoless) Love-Bliss (and With My Apparently Objective Spirit-Matrix, Infinitely Above). The Experience Of conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Depends Upon The Temporary (Tacit and Spontaneous) Manipulation Of attention, and The Temporary (Tacit and Spontaneous) Manipulation Of Even All Of The Mechanics (or physiology and psychology) Of the body-mind. Therefore, Such (merely conditionally) Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is Only A Temporary and conditional Achievement Of ego-Transcending (and body- mind-Transcending) Ecstasy.

The Ascent To conditional Nirvikalpa Samadhi Achieves The Temporary
and conditional Experiential Transcending Of the conditional self (or ego) that is the body-mind, but It Does Not Absolutely Achieve Either The Temporary Or The Permanent Perfect (or Inherent, and Inherently Complete) Transcending Of egoity itself (or the Root-self-Contraction, which is attention itself). Therefore, conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is The Achievement Of (Fifth Stage) Ecstasy (or The State Of Standing “Outside”, or Spiritually Beyond, the body-mind), but It Is Only A Temporary, conditional, and Cosmic Ecstasy (and It Is Not Founded Upon—or, Otherwise, Inherently Associated With—Inherently Most Perfect Spiritual, Transcendental, and Self-Evidently Divine Enstasy, or The Native Condition Of Standing Unconditionally As The By-Me-Avatarically-Self-Revealed Transcendental, Inherently Spiritual, Inherently egoless, and Self-Evidently Divine Self-Condition Itself).

The Temporarily Ascended Event Of conditional Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is Not merely an “out-of-body experience”,162 Because (In conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi) attention Stands “Outside” (or Above) the perceptual and conceptual mind As Well As the body. In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), The Ascended Event Of condi- tional Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is The Most Complete (or Extreme) Achievement Of The conditional Ascent Of attention (which is The conditional Essence Of the ordinary, or perceptual and conceptual, mind) To A State Of Union With The Undifferentiated Oneness Of My Utterly (Priorly and Perfectly) Ascended Matrix-Condition, Infinitely Above The psycho-physical Context Of the conditional body-mind. Therefore, Such conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is The conditional Achievement Of The conditional Transcending Of the body- mind, With A Simultaneously Permitted Glimpse Of My Always Priorly and Perfectly Ascended Source-Reality (or Ascended Matrix-Condition), Always Already Free-Standing, Utterly Above conception, perception, and phenomenal (or psycho-physical) self-Awareness. Nevertheless, Such conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is An Event That Is Naturally Dependent Upon the body- mind-self—and, Therefore, The Experience Is, Necessarily, Soon Lost In The Inevitable Return, or Descent, Of attention To the states of identification With The Various Dualisms Of the body-mind-self and the Natural conditions of the body-mind-self.

The individual brain-and-body complex (As Well As every other conditionally Manifested being, form, process, or circumstance Within The Mandala Of conditional, or Cosmic, Existence) Is (functionally, and In Effect) a mediator, or a structural limit On The One and Only and Inherently Indivisible and Inherently egoless and Self-Evidently Divine Conscious Light Of all-and-All. In The Event Of conditionally Ascended (or Merely Fifth Stage) Nirvikalpa Samadhi, The conventionally experienced Distinction Between the knower and the known Is conditionally (and Temporarily) Obliterated. Thus, In The Event Of conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi (In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart), The By-Me-Avatarically-Self-Transmitted Spirit-Current Of Divine Love-Bliss Temporarily Ceases To Be mediated (or functionally limited), and Conscious Awareness Comes (conditionally, and Temporarily) To Sudden Experiential Realization Of The Self-Evidently Divine Context and State Of Being. Therefore, Even In The Event Of conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi, The Great Matter Of Significance (In The Only- By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart) Is Not The Experience Of A Great Object (or Even The Experience Of The Apparently Objective Divine)— but The Great Matter Of Significance Is The Revelation Of My Avatarically Self-Revealed (Transcendental, Inherently Spiritual, Inherently egoless, and Self-Evidently Divine) Self-Condition (Which Is The Ultimate, and Perfectly Subjective, Identity Of every conditional knower, and Of all that is condition- ally known, and Of all forms of conditional knowledge).

In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), The (Potential) Experience Of conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is An Event Of conditional (and Temporary) Release Of The Unconscious From Its Apparent Unconsciousness—or An Event Of conditional and Temporary Release Of The By-Me-Avatarically-Self-Revealed Transcendental, Inherently Spiritual, Inherently egoless, and Self-Evidently Divine Self- Consciousness From The Illusion Of limitation Implied By The Superimposition Of the conditional self (or the self-Contracted body-mind), and its objects, On The By-Me-Avatarically-Self-Revealed Transcendental, Inherently Spiritual, Inherently egoless, and Self-Evidently Divine Self-Consciousness. Therefore, As Such, conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is The Tacit (but condi- tional, and Temporary) Realization Of The Divinely Real (and Inherently ego- less) Self-Condition Of the conditional self and all of its objects (Including The Total Cosmic Domain Of conditionally Manifested beings, forms, and events). In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is Only A Possible— but Not Necessary—Experience. However, In The Context Of The Full “Samraj Yoga” Of The “Perfect Practice” Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), Priorly (Fully and Perfectly, or Not “from-the-ground-up”) Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi—Which Is Inherently Associated With Inherently Most Perfect Divine Self-Realization (and With The “Regeneration” Of Amrita Nadi)—Is A Necessary Immediate Prerequisite To The Awakening (and The Transition) To The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Seventh Stage Of Life (and To The Third Stage Of The “Perfect Practice” Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart, or Way Of Adidam). In The Event Of Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi, The Perception, Conception, or Presumption Of a Separate self Is (By Means Of My Avatarically Self-Transmitted Divine Spiritual Grace) Inherently, and Perfectly, and Permanently Undermined—and, In Due Course (By Means Of My Avatarically Self-Transmitted Divine Spiritual Grace), That Perception, Conception, or Presumption Is Inherently, and Most Perfectly, and Permanently Lost (or Absolutely Vanished, and Infinitely Transcended, and Divinely Gone Beyond), In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Awakening To Seventh Stage Sahaja
Nirvikalpa Samadhi.

In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is The Spontaneous and Only- By-My-Avataric-Divine-Spiritual-Grace-Given Establishment In The “Position” Of My (Apparently Objective) Spirit-Matrix Of Divine Love-Bliss. Therefore, Although There May (Experientially) Appear To Be A Sudden Ascent Of atten- tion, The Event Of Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Does Not, In Fact, Depend Upon Any Manipulation Of attention (or Even Any Manipulation Of All Of The Mechanics, or physiology and psychology, Of the body-mind). Therefore, Unlike conditionally Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi, Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is Not Inherently Associated With An Inevitable Return (or Descent) Of attention To the states of identification With The Various Dualisms Of the body-mind-self and the Natural conditions of the body-mind-self.

In The “Perfect Practice” Of The Full “Samraj Yoga” Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi (or Priorly and Spiritually Established Samadhi In The Context Of The Vertical Domain) Is (and Must Be) Realized (By Means Of My Avatarically Self-Transmitted Divine Spiritual Grace) In Perfect Conjunction With Priorly Self-Abiding Jnana Nirvikalpa Samadhi (or Priorly and Spiritually Established Samadhi In The Context Of The Horizontal Domain). Thus, In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi Is—In This Unique Manner—Inherently Associated With (Inherently Most Perfect) Spiritual, Transcendental, and Self- Evidently Divine Enstasy (or The Native Condition Of Standing Unconditionally As The By-Me-Avatarically-Self-Revealed Transcendental, Inherently Spiritual, Inherently egoless, and Self-Evidently Divine Self-Condition Itself).

Therefore, In The Context Of The “Perfect Practice” Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), That Divine Conscious Light Which Was Previously Hidden (or Veiled To Consciousness) Is Perfectly Self-Revealed In The Unique Coincidence (or Coincident Vertical and Horizontal Self-Realization) Of Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi and Priorly Self-Abiding Jnana Nirvikalpa Samadhi. Subsequent To The Coincident (or Uniquely Perfect) Awakening Of Priorly Ascended Nirvikalpa Samadhi and Priorly Self-Abiding Jnana Nirvikalpa Samadhi (In The Context Of The “Samraj Yoga” Of The Second Stage Of The “Perfect Practice” Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way Of The Heart, or Way Of Adidam), That Divine Conscious Light Which Was Previously Hidden Becomes (In The Only-By-My- Avataric-Divine-Spiritual-Grace-Given Event Of Seventh Stage Sahaja Nirvikalpa Samadhi) A Most Ultimate (and Inherent, and Inherently Most Perfect) Conscious Awakening That Is Spontaneously, Effortlessly, and Inevitably Maintained Even In The Context Of the (Apparent) arising of every kind of conditional form or event.
