“I am the Ancient One. When I say
I am God it is not because I have thought about it and
concluded that I am God – I know it to be so. Many consider
it blasphemy for one to say he is God; but in truth it would
be blasphemous for me to say I am not God.” Listen to Adi Da talk about ‘his
confession’.
Watch, Read and Listen to Adi
Da “Spiritual Master does not become
God in the sense that you imagine he becomes God any more
than you become God as a devotee in the way you imagine you
have become God. The Spiritual Master speaks ecstatically
about his oneness with the Divine. It is ecstatic
self-transcending speech. He doesn’t mean (points to the
body – laughter from audience) me as God? That’s absurd, of
course not. Those who play at being spiritual
master you see basically are looking for devotion toward
their independent existence, they are liars, they are idol
of the people. You all suffer from this tendency to make me
an idol rather than use me as the Spiritual Master you
see. Because of this I have to remain
aggressively ordinary in many ways. I have to do all the
things that I must do to create your right association with
me because it is also not true. To think of me as an
ordinary man as somebody speaking something about a way of
life that you could live and realize God too, that kind of
association with me is not true either. The Spiritual Master is the
instrument of God Realization, the agency of devotees by
virtue of his sacrifice. By virtue of his transcendental
realization it has become obvious that God is present. And
those who enter into right relationship with the Spiritual
Master enjoy that realization by virtue of the work of God.
I
am the man of understanding, who appears as the Bright, full
light of Atma Nadi, Amrita, endless, beginningless Bliss,
unqualified Existence, Knowledge of the Heart, knowing and
living all my forms through the intelligence of all my
forms, the Bright itself, Lord of all forms. This ‘I’ of
Brightness is not the me of my birth. ‘I’ am the ‘I’ of
every man of understanding. ‘I’ am that same ‘I’, the unborn
Presence of every man of understanding. ‘I’ am not the me of
Franklin, or the me of any man. When ‘I’ speak of the Self
of understanding ‘I’ speak for every man of understanding,
not the particular manifestation who is Franklin. But
Franklin is my form. The peculiar grace of my conscious life
has me loving Franklin, as ‘I’ also conceive the love of all
my forms. The birth of Franklin is in the karmic order of
all other men. But in Franklin, ‘I’ have overcome the
differences that send me from my forms. As long as he lives
there will appear this paradox
in all his words. Understanding is the eternal discipline
whereby he and all men retain the spectacle of my voice and
mind. Where there is understanding ‘I’ am the only One who
appears and speaks. Where there is no understanding there is
only all of you, the dilemma of many births and searches.
Understand and you are the one who lives. Franklin Jones (Adi Da Samraj) –

You Must Not Believe in Me!
Adi Da Samraj – 1979 In a response to the Jonestown Massacre The following is from Adidam, the official church of Avatar Adi Da Samraj Meher Baba on 7 September
1953 “When I say I am the Avatar,
there are a few who feel happy, some who feel shocked, and
many who hearing me claim this, would take me for a
hypocrite, a fraud, a supreme egoist, or just mad. If I were
to say every one of you is an Avatar, a few would be
tickled, and many would consider it a blasphemy or a joke.
The fact that God being One, Indivisible and equally in us
all, we can be nought else but one, is too much for the
duality-conscious mind to accept. Yet each of us is what the
other is. I know I am the Avatar in every sense of the word,
and that each one of you is an Avatar in one sense or the
other. It is an unalterable and
universally recognized fact since time immemorial that God
knows everything. God does everything, and that nothing
happens but by the Will of God. Therefore it is God who
makes me say I am the Avatar, and that each one of you is an
Avatar. Again, it is He Who is tickled through some, and
through others is shocked. It is God Who acts, and God Who
reacts. It is He Who scoffs, and He Who responds. He is the
Creator, the Producer, the Actor and the Audience in His own
Divine Play.” “The primary “method” of
Liberation used by the God-Man Da Kalki (as well as by the
Great Beings who have come before Him) is His sheer
Attractiveness. He is the Divine Form, and His Love is His
Attractive Power. Heart-Master Da is the most Radiant Object
in the universe. For to truly see Him is to see no mere
fleshy personality, but to see the Divine, the Self-Radiant
and Self-Existing Consciousness, which Outshines even the
Heart-Master’s own body-mind.” The
