Chapter 9: The Western Way
The Search for Liberation and the Way
of Prior Freedom
The Occupation of most human beings is the search to be
fulfilled and liberated by experience and knowledge. But I
was born already Free. Therefore, my Occupation has been to
incarnate and yet remain Free, whereas others seek to become
Free by escaping the real circumstances of incarnation.
I have understood the false need for self-fulfillment and
liberation. I have been adapting and learning all the while,
but I am Free. Therefore, I do not Teach the way of escape,
or of distraction by experience, or of self-indulgence, or
of knowledge and power. Every man and every woman must adapt
to every part of Man in the World-Process, but I Teach the
Way in which all of that may be done in Divine Freedom.
I do not Teach the way of mere fulfillment of lower and
higher desires. I do not Teach the Way of mere liberation,
or escape from the World-Process. I do not Teach the search
for liberation, based on the dilemma of fear, unlove, and
separation from Life. I Teach the Way of incarnate love,
founded on prior Freedom and Communion with Life. I Teach
understanding of the loveless dilemma that promotes the
search for Freedom and Love and Life.
Others Teach the methods of liberation through one or
another kind of fulfillment of Man. But I have transcended
all escape and all fulfillment through the native Freedom in
which I have been born. I have transcended the need for
liberation, and all of my experience is a centerless Chaos
of Joy. I Teach the Way of the body in love. I was born to
incarnate. I am the Enemy of every illusion by which Man is
betrayed.
