Cathryn Stein Abato became a student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1972 and a member of the Nalanda Translation Committee in 1976. 
Ms. Abato offers His Holiness The Dalai Lama The Sacred Path of the Warrior on behalf of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche Creator Dalai Lama XIV, 1935- Buddhism and culture, United States – Chogyam Trungpa, 1939-1987. This was the first time that His Holiness The Dalai Lama received an offering from Chögyam Trungpa in the United States. The event was historic because this was a meeting of two Tibetan Buddhist lineages in the Western Hemisphere.
