To survive, we must change, and grow, and evolve. To change, and grow, and evolve, we must transcend ourselves. To transcend ourselves, we must become a love-sacrifice into the Radiant Life-Principle. If we surrender to mortal fear, then we fall back on ourselves. In that case, we contract and separate ourselves from the Radiant Life-Principle, and, therefore, from the acts of love, and evolution, and growth, and change. We will seem to survive even then, but only by regressing into the static subjective illusions of mind, finite self, destructive bodily self-indulgence, and ultimate emptiness. Such survival (while we live, and even after death) is merely withdrawal from the creative struggle of Life, by passing back through the stages of growth, adaptation, and evolution we have already completed, until the motive of Life again inspires us. Therefore, we are obliged to survive, and change, and grow, and evolve, and love. But that Process is ecstatic, or self-transcending, and always already free. It is a matter of the surrender of the total self, including both mind and body, into the All-Pervading Current of Radiant Life and Transcendental Consciousness.
