ll ordinary lives are problem-solving adventures. Every moment, you are solving problems of various kinds, working toward a higher form of integration or solution to the various appearances or conditions of life. And the Man of Understanding seems to do just that. And the dharma then seems to be the principle solution of solutions and viewed in that light and the Guru as the principle solver of all among all solvers, that the whole matter is misinterpreted and becomes like all other things, false illusory.

And in fact, that is what occurs in the traditions. And as they appear to you all at this moment in time, there are simply forms of solutions, distractions, consolations.
So, no tradition serves in itself; no communication is truth or leads to it. And the affair of realization, Radical Understanding and so forth is always generated in present time, either through the agency of the entrance of such a Siddha into the human plain or through the teaching remaining viable in the form of a living community. Once the teaching becomes ineffective, the community fails, then that source is dead. Then, it’s simply part of the whole mass of solutions and constellations and so forth that have appeared in human time. It is just a relic and a fetish. And even during the Guru’s lifetime, it may function that way for many. If you don’t live this truly conscious process that is sadhana, then all the things that the Guru is that, the community is that the teaching is, all of that is no different from any of the involvements that any other human being has at any level whatsoever. And you’re not, therefore, involved in some superior process, some superior communication of truth, and all that.
